We didn't find out at the ultrasound appointment. Instead, we had the technician circle whether Mateo was going to have a brother or sister on the card we gave her. We wanted to go to a special place to open up the card together as a family, somewhere quiet and private. Alex suggested we go to the Maverick gas station. (He secretly belongs to the "Church of the Mav" because he loves the 39 cent refills and pays his respects often.) But I thought that Maverick was a little inappropriate. AND, I know he just wanted to go get a diet Pepsi before he had to go back to work. Alex then proposed we go to the lot of our future home. After risking getting stuck in the snow because the road hasn't been plowed yet this year, it ended up being the perfect location.... quiet, mountainous, and glittery snow shining all around us.

This pregnancy has been completely different from Mateo's. It threw me for a loop. We are very happy with the outcome and this kid inside is a bit bigger than average, so my due date might be 10 days earlier, which is fine by me.

Congrats, Moni, Alex and Mateo! That video was high suspense, waiting for Mateo to get the card open. He will love having a little brother! I hope you're feeling well, Moni!
